What the REI 7-6 form fixes
The form's sections run through structural systems, electrical systems, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, plumbing, appliances and optional systems, and each item within them carries the same four boxes: inspected, not inspected, not present, deficient. The inspector marks one or more and writes the finding beneath. Because the boxes are fixed, a Texas report produces its own counts by construction, the way the summary on a standards-based report does elsewhere: items inspected, items deficient, items not inspected.
